About Cesaden

The CESADEN clinic is both one of the largest dental centers in Spain as well as a leader on the national level dedicated to dentistry with over 5,000 annual oral rehabilitations. We have been a point of reference in Catalonia in this field for more than 80 years and have demonstrated great professional experience, continuous training as well as the use of the latest technologies, which have guaranteed unbeatable results, always taking into account the exclusive and personalized care of each patient.

We are located in a privileged setting in the heart of the Costa Brava, in the town called Platja D’Aro (100 km from Barcelona and Perpignan and very near to the airport of Girona), in the Baix Empordà county, Girona province, far from the crowds and stress of a city. All this allows us to offer the best service as regards the quality of the job carried out as well as personal and friendly service.

History

Ramón Llistosella GajaThe CESADEN clinic in Platja d’Aro was founded in 1982. We are the third generation dedicated to dentistry.

The first to work as a dentist was the grandfather Ramon. Ramon Llistosella Gaja was born in a small town Ripollès Campdevànol on 25 November 1918.

At the age of 10 years he became an orphan and from that moment until the age of 16 he worked as an assistant at the dentist’s in Ripoll. This is where he also decided to settle down. Not only did he pass on to us the love of dentistry, but also the love of cycling, the sport that he practised daily in order to go to work. This gave him a chance to win some cycling races.

Ramón Llistosella AlbertíThe Civil War broke out in 1936 and, at the age of 18 years, he was sent to Platja d’Aro where he met the grandmother, Carmen Albertí Bona.

The destiny took them to Reus, where Ramon Listosella Gaja trained as dental laboratory technician and assistant. Times were hard so in the morning he cycled round the local towns and pulled out teeth and did teeth cleaning and in the evening he worked in the lab making prostheses.

Grandfather and Grandmother were in love with Playa de Aro, though… And this is where Ramon Llistosella Albertí, the couple’s only child, was born in 1946. He was the second generation of dentists.

Ramón y Elisabeth

He spent his childhood in Reus and Tarragona, and in 1965 went to study medicine in Santiago de Compostela, where he met his wife to be, Elizabeth Vindel Serrano, a classmate and companion for adventures.

When they finished their studies, they moved to Madrid, where Elisabeth studied gynaecology and obstetrics and Ramon specialised in dentistry.

And then the third generation, which currently manages the CESADEN clinic, was born.

Ramon LListostella Vindel was born in 1973 and Elisabeth decided to quit her job as a gynaecologist and specialised in dentistry.

Two years later, in 1975, Father Ramon opened a clinic in Madrid and passed official exams in order to become a professor at the Complutense Universidad in Madrid. The latter coincided with the birth of their second son, Iban Llistosella Vindel.

Laia Llistosella

Finally, in 1979 the family moved to Platja d’Aro where they decided to stay for good. And this is where the current CESADEN clinic is located. The youngest to the family, Laia Llistosella Vindel was born here too.

Nevertheless, the building where the current clinic is located was not built until 1982. At that time CESADEN sponsored an amateur cycling team including such cyclists as Melchior Mauri and Joan Llaneras among others.

Familia Llistosella VindelIn 1993, Ramon Llistosella Albertí died in a car accident when he was travelling to Madrid. This is when the Madrid clinic closed and the Platja d’Aro one was the only one to remain open.

In 1998, Ramon Llistosella Vindel studied dentistry in Madrid and in 1999 and 2000 Iban Llistosella Vindel and Laia Llistosella Vindel respectively took courses to become laboratory technicians.
